Gresham kicks offs Crate Racin' USA slate at Cochran
Mario Gresham began his pursuit for the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA championship on Saturday afternoon with a visit to Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Ga.) for the No Foolin’ Foray.
With 44 Late Models packed in the pit area, Gresham followed up the seventh-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a seventh-to-fifth showing in his heat, relegating him into a B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Mario secured his spot into the show with a runner-up finish. Clawing forward five positions in the 50-lap affair, Gresham recorded a 15th-place finish.
