Mario Gresham rules 602 World Championship at Magnolia Motor Speedway
Banks $5,000 Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour Victory
ROME, Ga. (08/12/25) – The title “World Champion” has a nice ring to it, and Mario Gresham earned that honor over the weekend with a $5,000 victory in Friday’s 602 World Championship at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
The Rome, Georgia, native outdueled Bryson Mitchell in a thrilling, lead-swapping 50-lap battle to capture the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour triumph in his One Source Paint & Body / Acker’s Wrecker Service No. 10 Longhorn Chassis Late Model.
“Man, that was fun,” an exhausted Gresham said in Victory Lane. “Bryson’s a good buddy of mine, so it’s pretty cool to race someone that hard for that long and know they’ll race you clean. This season wouldn’t be possible without my wife and all my great sponsors, so a big thanks to each of them.”
Gresham’s doubleheader weekend in Mississippi and Alabama opened with the rain-delayed 602 World Championship feature at Magnolia, originally set for Memorial Day weekend. Lining up 11th on the grid, he quickly began his charge, breaking into the top-five by lap 18 and taking the lead from Brett White 10 circuits later.
Over the next 20 laps, Gresham and Mitchell traded sliders and swapped the top spot before the driver known as “Super Mario” secured the lead for good on lap 45 and pulled away to the $5,000 payday. The victory was his second of the season.
Carrying momentum into Saturday, Gresham finished third at Alabama’s Xtreme Speedway, joining brothers Braden and Bryson Mitchell on the podium.

Next up, Gresham will return to the Super Late Model ranks on August 23 when the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series visits North Georgia Speedway for a $15,000-to-win main event.
